Somewhere Wild
Privacy Policy

Somewhere Wild is a child-friendly animal discovery game for families. This policy explains what information the app does and does not collect.
Summary
Somewhere Wild is designed to be used by children without ads, accounts, tracking, or collection of children's personal information.
At launch, the app is designed so that:
- children do not create accounts
- children are not asked for names, email addresses, photos, voice recordings, location, messages, or other personal information
- the app does not show ads
- the app does not use third-party analytics or tracking SDKs
- external links, credits, settings, support, and purchases are protected by a parent gate
Information We Do Not Collect From Children
Somewhere Wild does not ask children to provide:
- name
- email address
- phone number
- home address
- location
- photos
- videos
- voice recordings
- messages
- contacts
- account usernames or passwords
The app does not include child accounts, social sharing, public profiles, chat, or user-generated uploads.
On-Device Settings
Somewhere Wild may store simple settings on the device, such as:
- whether the app is in Child-led or Parent-led mode
- whether background music is on or off
- whether the first-launch parent welcome screen has already been shown
These settings are stored locally on the device and are not sent to Somewhere Wild.
Purchases
Somewhere Wild may offer a one-time premium unlock. Purchases and restore-purchase actions are available only behind the parent gate.
Payments are handled by Apple's App Store. Somewhere Wild does not receive or store payment card details.
Parent Support Contact
If a parent or guardian contacts us for support, we may receive the information included in that message, such as the parent's email address and the contents of the request. We use support messages only to respond to the request and maintain basic support records.
Please do not send a child's personal information, photos, videos, voice recordings, precise location, or other sensitive information in support messages.

Third-Party Services
At launch, Somewhere Wild is designed without ads, third-party analytics, third-party tracking, social SDKs, or account services.
The app uses real animal photos and sounds from third-party source libraries under compatible public-domain or Creative Commons licenses. Attribution is shown in the parent-gated credits area. Those credits are about media licensing and do not mean that those source libraries collect data from children through the app.
If third-party services are added later, this policy and the App Store privacy disclosures must be updated before release.
External Links
The app may include parent-gated links, such as:
- privacy policy
- support
- media credits and source attribution pages
External websites have their own privacy practices. Children should not access external links without a parent or guardian.
Data Retention
On-device settings remain on the device unless the app is deleted or the settings are changed.
Parent support messages may be kept as long as reasonably needed to respond to the request, maintain support records, and meet legal or operational needs.
Parent Rights
Parents and guardians may contact us to ask privacy questions or request deletion of support messages they sent.
